Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted in 2003 and replaced the arms shown below, designed in the 1950s.
The arms combine the arms of the four main towns in the département : Agen, Marmande, Nérac and Villeneuve-sur-Lot.
The previous arms:
These arms show the leopard of Guyenne with the two rivers Lot and Garonne.
