State : Oberösterreich
District : Steyr-Land

Sierning.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on June 18, 1973.

The arms show the wolf of Passau, as the town belonged from the 10th century until 1809 to the Bishops of Passau. The town is part of the district of Steyr, thus the colours of Steyr were chosen.

Literature : Baumert, H.E. : Oberösterreichische Gemeindewappen, Linz, 1996.
