History: Formed at Manchester on March 3, 1941.

A sparrow-hawks head proper holding in the beak a serpent vert.
Motto: Scientia in alto = Knowledge in the Sky.
Origin/meaning
The Sparrow-Hawk allud to aviation and the Serpent to Wisdom. The badge was granted in October 1949.
