LES VALLS DE VALIRA
Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida
Official blazon
Escut caironat: d'or, una vall de sinople carregada d' una faixa ondada d'argent, i sobremuntada d'un brau de sable. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 31, 2000.
The arms are canting: they show a valley ("vall" in Catalan) charged with a wavy bar that symbolizes the river Valira. The bull above is the attribute of St. Saturnin, patron saint of Anserall, and an allusion to the monastery of Sant Serni de Tavèrnoles, inside this municipality.
