Origin/meaning

The armiger holds a PhD in History and has wished to have his own coat of arms for a number of years, knowing always how the basic design would look. Finally, drawn by Xavier Garcia i Mesa, the armiger assumed the arms on 1st October 2024.

The colour of the field and the nature of the charge result in canting arms reflecting the armiger's two surnames: Verde is green in Castilian, and Llorente derives from the Latin name Laurentius, meaning “crowned by laurel.” In this way, the armiger honours their ancestors, who come from Castile, with these personal arms. To honour Catalonia, the armiger has also chosen the colour Gules for the fruits of the golden laurel wreath; Or and Gules are the tinctures of one of the oldest coats of arms: that of the dynasty of the Counts of Barcelona, of the Principality of Catalonia, and of the Crown of Aragon. The bordure of pieces is favoured by the armiger because it is a specifically Catalan heraldic charge and because it appears in the coat of arms of the Viscounts of Cabrera, the ancient lords of Blanes, the armiger's village.

The armiger created the motto Sapientia vincit cum participatur because they have wished to be a History teacher since the age of twelve, and believe that accumulated knowledge only becomes wisdom when it is shared; otherwise, it is mere erudition.
