====Origin/meaning====
The arms were granted in 1936 and are based on the seal of Gowsin von Ailstorp, dating from 1439. The only change is the addition of the miner's tools, as a symbol for the mining activities in the municipality. The colours are arbitrarily chosen in 1936.
