German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

EILENSTEDT

State : Sachsen-Anhalt
District (Kreis) : Harz (until 2007 Halberstadt)
Incorporated into : 2002 Huy

Wappen von Eilenstedt

Official blazon

(de) In Silber eine eingebogene blaue Spitze, darin eine silberne Turmruine, die Spitze begleitet von zwei schwarzen silberkonturierten und golden bewehrten Eulen auf silbernen ästen sitzend.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 15, 1995.

The oldest known design for the arms with the owls and a ruin, dates from 1982. The arms were, in different designs but with the same composition, used sporadically in the village. Only in 1995 was the design properly granted as arms.

The owls are a canting element (from Eulenstedt, or owl-town), even tough it is not sure whether Eile- is derived from Eule-.

I have no information in the meaning of the ruin.
