ZANGBERG

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Mühldorf am Inn

Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on March 25, 1985.

The arms are canting, showing pliers (Zange) over a mountain (Berg). The three hills in the base refer to the three villages of Palmberg, Zangberg and Weilkirchen, each of which is situated on a hill. Th epliers are taken from the Harskirch family, who ruled the village in the 13th and 14th century. The pliers were also used by some of their successors as Lords of Zangberg.
