The arms show in the upper half the black lion of Jülich and in the base a pretzel, as the village was for a long time well-known for its pretzels.
Neu Pattern
The village of Pattern was desroyed due to Lignite mining. The village was relocated and named Neu Pattern.

Official blason:
Ein geteiltes Schild, oben in Blau einen auf die Spitze gestellten sechsstrahligen silbernen Stern, unten in Silber eine blaue Hellebarde.
The star is taken from the arms of the former Amt Inden, to which the (former) village belonged. The halberd is the symbol of the local patron saint, St. Matthew.
