Official blazon

In Blau ein silberner flugbereiter Ganter mit einer rechts und links aus dem Hals wachsenden schwebenden verkürzten silbernen Leiste, belegt mit einem roten Herzschild mit einem silbernen sechsspeichigen Rad.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 12, 1993.

The goose (Ganter) is a canting element and was first used in the 1950s. The small barr refers to the Kirch- (church) part of the name. The small shield shows the arms of the State of Mainz, to which the area historically belonged.
