Blason de Maizières (Calvados)

Official blason

Origin/meaning

The two leopards are the arms of the Normandie Region, in which the municipality is situated. The crossed keys are the symbol of St. Peter, the local patron saint. The third quarter symbolises the Laizon river in the municipality.

The fourth quarter is a canting element, the name is derived from the Latin 'maceriae' meaning a ruined tower.
