Escudo de Poal/Arms of Poal
Official blazon
Catalan Escut caironat: de gules, un pou d'or. Per timbre una corona de marquès.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 3rd October 1989.

These arms are canting: etymologically, the name of the village comes from the Latin PUTEALIS, "related to a well", and because of that the arms show a well. The lordship of El Poal became a viscounty in 1706, and later a marquisat in 1725, under Antoni Desvalls i de Vergós, the viscount; that is shown by the marquis crown at the top of the arms.
