Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 16, 2002.
The base of the arms show the peat (moor) under the water in the region. The tree is a birch, a typical species found in the municipality. The two tools are both used for the peat mining, a net to collect the peat and a rack to shape and dry the pieces of peat. The peat in the region could only be reached by dregging the peat from below the water surface.
