Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 30, 1966.
The arms show the black cross of the State of Köln and the lion of the Counts of Berg, as the area historically belonged to either the counts of Berg or the bishops of Köln. The sword symbolises former reigns and landowners of the municipality.
