NO 237 (RHODESIA) SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE

Hisotry: Formed at Chattewater in August 1918.

Official blazon

A lion passant guardant Or charged on teh shoulder with an eagles claw sable and holding in the forpaw an elephants tusk proper.
Motto: Primum agmen in cælo = The vanguard is in the heavens.

Origin/meaning

The Lion holding the Tusk symbolises Rhodesia, the Eagles Claw symbolises the Royal Air Force. The badge was granted in October 1941.
