Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 24, 1967.

The municipality was created in 1966 by merging two villages on diffferent banks of the Kahl river. This is symbolised in the arms with the wavy bar symbolising the Kahl. Kleinblankenbach was a possession of the State of Mainz, and the upper half thus shows the wheel of Mainz. Grossblankenbach was a possession o fthe Counts of Schönborn, whose arms are shown in the lower half of the municipal arms.
