Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 15, 1981.

The bars are derived from the arms of the Lords of Rieneck, who owned several possessions in the municipality for several centuries. The lion was the symbol of the Counts of the Rhein, who ruled most of the area for a long time. The small shell is the symbol of St. James, patron saint of the village.
