Origin/meaning :
The arms were registered in 1963.
The crane (trane) is a canting element for Tranekær. The crane is taken from the arms of the historical Nørre Langelands herred. The waves and the red pale symbolise the geographical position of the municipality, in the middle of Langeland between two seas.
