  • (old) In Blau ein silberner Schrägrechtsbach, beiderseits begleitet von je einem goldenen Zinnenturm mit offenem Tor.
  • (new) In Blau über silbernem Wellenbalken ein goldener mit fünf Zinnen gekrönter Turm mit offenem Tor.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 25, 1969, the previous arms (see below) were granted on January 31, 1964.

The arms show Hinter Aa, a small river. The previous arms showed the two castles which stood in Hinte in the 12-13th centuries. The Westerburg was destroyed in 1436, the Osterburg still exists. In the present arms only one castle, as the center of the new municipality is shown.
