SANT CEBRIÀ DE VALLALTA

Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona

S-cebriav.jpg

Official blazon

Escut caironat: de gules, una vall d'or sobremuntada d'una mitra d'argent franjada i amb les ínfules d'or ressaltant sobre un bàcul de bisbe d'or posat en pal. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 12th June 1997.

Canting arms: they show a mitre and a bishop's staff, as the attributes of the bishop and martyr St. Cyprian, the local patron saint; and a valley, because Vallalta derives from "vall alta" (Catalan for "high valley").
