Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ?-?-1992.

The divided shield is the arms of the diocese of Magdeburg, to which the village historically belonged. The arms show the local patron saint, St. Mauritius as a knight and holding a banner and shield. The small tools symbolise the mining in the area.
