RHEURDT
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Kleve (until 1974 Moers)
Amt : Amt Rheurdt (until 1969)
Additions : 1969 Amt Rheurdt, Schaephuysen
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 11, 1970.
The arms are identical to the old arms of the Amt Rheurdt and combine the symbols of the patron saints of Rheurdt (St. Nicholas, apples) and Schaephuysen (St. Hubertus, deer). The colours are the old colours of Geldern, as the area was a possession of the dukes of Geldern.
The previous arms were granted on June 27, 1956.
These arms show the three apples as a symbol of St. Nicholas, the local patron saint.
