Official blason

Av guld och rött delad sköld, i övre fältet hällristning en plöjande man med två oxar, allt av rött, i nedre fältet hällristning ett skepp av guld.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 21, 1986.

The arms show parts from the famous UNESCO World Heritage site of rock carvings in the municipality. The carvings also symbolise the agricultural part of the municipality, as well as the coastal part and villages.
