Official blazon

I fält av silver en av vågskuror bildad blå balk, belagd med två balkvis ordnade laxar av silver med röd beväring, därest sådan skall komma till användning.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 10, 1948.

The rivers near Möllum are rich in salmon and already in 1231 salmon fishing by King Valdemar II in the rivers is mentioned. Until 1333 the fishing was a royal privilege and from 1333 until the Reformation it was a right of the Bishops of Lund. The fishing traditionally started on 18.00 h on the 11th of May. Hence the two salmon in the arms.

Elleholm never had official arms. There are, however, two seals known from Elleholm, the oldest dates from around 1450 and shows a fleur-de-lis (lily) on a field with roses. The second is known from 1584 and shows a grill, the symbol of St. Lawrence (see below).
