REINFELD

State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Stormarn
Additions : 1925 Neuhof, Steinhof

Wappen von Reinfeld

Official blazon

Geteilt von Rot und Blau. Oben ein hervorkommender, linksgewendeter goldener Abtstab zwischen zwei auswärts geneigten goldenen Ähren; unten ein waagerechter silberner Fisch.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 9, 1930.

The village Reinfeld grew around the Cistercian monastery Reynevelde. The abbott's crozier symbolises the monastery. The wheat ear symbolised the importance of the agriculture in the area. The two ears represent the two older municipalities of Neuhof and Steinhof. The carp in the lower part of the arms symbolise the carp breeding, which was started by the monks in the middle ages and is still practised. Every year a carp festival is held in the village.
