KITZECK IM SAUSAL

State : Steiermark
District : Leibnitz

Kitzeck.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on 5 July, 1971.

Kitzeck lies in the Sausal hills, where vines have been cultivated since Roman times. The peculiar wheel is a "Klapotetz", a windmill not used for pumping water, but for making noise. This is a traditional device of this particular region for scaring the birds off the vine-yards.
