SCHÖNBERG-LACHTAL

State : Steiermark
District : Murau

Schonberg.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on July 4, 1983.

Schönberg-Lachtal is now a municipality thriving on ski-tourism. But as a rule, villages in the mountains were rather poor. It was an exception that a farmer could afford to build a house decorated with arcades. In commemoration, a column was put into the arms. During roadworks in the area, a depot containing spearheads from the La Tène age was found, these are also represented by the silver pales. The point symbolises the village in the Lach-valley.
