WINKLERN BEI OBERWÖLZ
State : Steiermark
District : Murau
Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on December 19, 1994.
Winklern's parish church is dedicated to Our Lady and was built on a hill, called Lindbichel. So a heraldic hill was put into the shield, along with a linden tree adorned with the Fleur-de-lis, which is a symbol for Our Lady. The two chevrons reversed illustrate the name of the municipality, Winklern, hidden in its "nook" (Winkel) in a mountain valley.
