Sobre el campo del escudo en azul una cruz de oro, a todo trance, cargada de una rueda dentada en gules, en el centro o abismo del escudo.

Origin/meaning

The cross refers top the fact that the city of San Jose de Las Lajas developed on a crossing of two main roads.

The cog wheel refers to the industry in the area as well as to the first communist cell which was founded in the parish in 1931.
