Origin/meaning

The town uses the coat of arms of Charles Louis Hugo abbot of Étival in 1722, and bishop of Ptolemaide in 1728. The arms combine the arms of the Hugo family (blue with silver chief with merles), and the arms of the Étival Abbey.
