Origin/meaning

The three inverted chevrons symbolize the three valleys in the municipality. The scythe and the rake symbolize the agricultural character of the village. The grapes indicate the wealth of the country at the end of the nineteenth century due to viticulture. The colors are those of the canonesses of Remiremont and the family of Bassompierre both lords of the place.
