ÖSTERHANINGE

Province (Landskap): Södermanland
County (Län): Stockholms län
Additions : 1959 Dalarö (1952 Ornö, Utö)
Incorporated into : 1971 Haninge

Österhaninge kommunvapen

Official blason

I fält av guld en tjädertupp stående på ett med utåtvidgade armar och genomborrat, runt mittparti format kors, båda röda.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 2, 1951.

The black grouse cock makes these arms canting (hane = rooster), and alludes to the forest Hanveden, which had given the place its name. The cross is taken from the runes-tone from Tyresta in the municipality.
