Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in hight overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Argent a saltire Vert, a parachute of the first and Azure overall a weighing scales of the first and Or, grasped in a mailed fist palewise. Attached below the shield a blue and silver scroll inscribed "JUSTICE FROM ABOVE" in silver.
Origin/meaning
The Colours Green and Yellow are those of the Military Police Units. The Saltire refers to the Roman numeral "10" and the Unit's designation. The Parachute and Scales symbolises the Motto and the Airborne Status. The Gauntlet symbolise Authority. The Crest symbolise the Campaings in central Europe and the Rhineland during World War II. The Distinctive Unit Insignia and the Coat of Arms was authorized 22 September 1997.
