Buff and scarlet are the Colours traditionally associated with Support Units. The chevron represents support and alludes to the basic mission of the organisation. The wheel refers to historic quartermaster and transportation functions of the unit. The five stars represent campaign participation in Italy during World War II. The Wreath in the Crest is taken from the State Emblem of Italy. The red ribbon alludes to the Meritorious Unit Commendation awarded to the Battalion. The Mountain Peak alludes to the operations in Mountainious Areas of Italy during World War II. The Crossed SWord and Key alludes to the Quartermaster origin of the Battalion.
