+The 16th Cavalry was organized with personnel from the 3rd, 6th and 14th Cavalry. This origin is symbolises by the Canton, which is green from the arms of the 3rd Cavalry, embattled from the arms of the 6th Cavalry. The Standard is form the arms of the 14th Cavalry. Yellow is the Colour of US Cavalry and the Blue chevron indicates the old Blue Colour of the US Uniform. The Crest symbolize the Birthplace of the Regiment close to the US-Mexican Border.
