1ST SPECIAL OPERATIONS SECURITY FORCES SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Constituted as 1016 Guard Squadron on 27 Jul 1942. Activated on 14 Aug 1942. Disbanded on 31 Mar 1944. Reconstituted, and redesignated as 16 Security Police Squadron on 31 Jul 1985. Consolidated (1 Oct 1993) with the 1 Special Operations Security Police Squadron, which was constituted on 23 Feb 1993. Activated on 24 Mar 1993. Redesignated as: 16 Security Police Squadron on 1 Oct 1993; 16 Security Forces Squadron on 1 Jul 1997; 1 Special Operations Security Forces Squadron on 16 Nov 2006.
