The Buff field symbolises the Roots of the Unit as part of the Quartermaster Corps. The Griffin indicates the activities of the Battalion. The Hourglass is indicative of the aim to get there "on time". The Spears symbolises the Unit's Campaigns of World War II i Germany, France and Northern Africa. Service in Soutern France is symbolised by the Fleur-de-lis, the chevron denotes support, the colour blue alludes to the Rhine River. The embattlement is indicative

of the Castles of Rhineland. The Laurel symbolises honour and achievement, its green colour alludes to the Campaigns i Italy during World War II. The Crescent symbolises service in North Africa. The Distictive Unit Insignia and Coat of Arms was originaly approved for the 28th Quartermaster Regiment on 24 December 1941. The was redesignated for the 28th Transportation Truck Battalion on 13 April 1951and on 7 June 1962 for the 28th Transportation Battalion. The arms were rescinded/callelled on 7 June 1962. The arms were reinstated and redesignated for the 28th Transportation Battalion on 19 September 1995, it was amended to include a crest on 5 June 1997.
