History: Constituted as 1 Materiel Squadron, 23 Air Base Group (Reinforced), and activated, on 1 Sep 1940. Redesignated: 31 Materiel Squadron on 17 Jan 1941; 31 Service Squadron on 14 Jul 1942; 31 Air Service Squadron on 20 Aug 1943; 31 Engineering Squadron on 10 Nov 1944; 31 Air Engineering Squadron on 25 Jan 1945. Inactivated on 30 Nov 1945. Activated on 19 May 1947. Inactivated on 12 Aug 1948. Disbanded on 8 Oct 1948. Reconstituted, redesignated 31 Munitions Squadron, and activated, on 1 Aug 1996. Inactivated on 22 Mar 2004. Activated on 11 Sep 2007.
