Origin/meaning

Originally a Fighter Squadron, as such it relied on strength and precision to vanquish the enemy. This is symbolised by the Belt of Odin who gave strength to the one who carried it. The Spear is that of Odin named Gugner, who always hit its target symbolising precision. The badge was approved by King Olav V on 4 April 1979. The Present form was approved by the Chief of Defence on 3 July 2008.
