Origin/meaning

Shield: Brick red is the color used for the Transportation Corps and buff alludes to the 49th Quartermaster Truck Regiment from which the unit is descended. The color red is added for design and denotes the martial prowess of the organization. The motto is expressive of the continuous service rendered. Crest: Brick red and golden yellow are the colors traditionally associated with Transportation units. The tower denotes the unit’s campaign participation in Central Europe. The fleur-de-lis refers to the campaign in Northern France. The scimitars represent the Meritorious Unit Commendations awarded to the unit for service in Southwest Asia.
