Origin/meaning

The key symbolizes command and co0ntrol, the double bit in this instance alluding to the unit's former supply and service mission and its present maintenance assignment
The Sun,the source of energy, is also a measurement of time, and refers to accomplishment within the time scheduled or allotted. The key and sun together are symbolic of the
means of successfully compelting difficult tasks, the sun signifying technical knowledge and selection, and the key the mechanical skills essential to maintenance.
The wavy blue bar refers to the Rhineland campaign in World War II, in which the unit participated as the 541st Quartermaster Battalion.
The Coat of Arms was approved on 22 January 1996 and the Distinctive Unit Insignia was originally approved for the 541st Quartermaster Battalion. It was redesignated for the 541st
Maintenance Battalion.
