57TH INTELLIGENCE SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Constituted as 2 Photographic Technical Squadron on 21 October 1943. Activated on 1 November 1943. Inactivated on 19 August 1946. Activated in the Reserve on 10 August 1948. Inactivated on 27 June 1949. Consolidated (16 October 1984) with unit constituted as 72 Reconnaissance Technical Squadron on 4 June 1952, activated on 16 June 1952, and inactivated on 15 April 1955. Consolidated unit was redesignated as: 27 Reconnaissance Technical Squadron on 16 October 1984; 57 Intelligence Squadron on 13 February 2015. Activated on 17 February 2015.
