Origin/meaning

The raven evokes a legend of the Snanaimooh, the people of the Nanaimo region where the unit is located. In this legend, the raven is the great messenger. Here, it symbolizes the unifying force of modern communications. The Motto translates as “To communicate over great distances”. The Badge was approved February 15, 2010.
