This Squadron was originally an Air Force Unit hence the Use of the Air Force Badge Pattern.
This air force insignia is used within the Defense Ground-based Air Defense Command, which falls under the army, by 800 Squadron. The emblem of this squadron consists of a hawk that scans the area from a tower. The tradition of this goes back to the first Fighter Aircraft Division of the first Aviation Regiment, then an army unit.
