History: Constituted as 86 Installations Squadron, Fighter, Single Engine, and activated, on 1 July 1948. Redesignated as 86 Installations Squadron on 20 January 1950. Inactivated on 8 March 1958. Activated on 1 November 1969. Redesignated as 86 Civil Engineering Squadron on 14 November 1969. Inactivated on 14 June 1985. Activated on 1 May 1991. Redesignated as 86 Civil Engineer Squadron on 1 March 1994. Inactivated on 15 January 2004. Activated on 16 July 2009.
