92ND FORCE SUPPORT SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Constituted as Base Detachment, Pope Field on 20 November 1940. Activated on 4 December 1940. Redesignated as: 92 Air Base Squadron (Special) on 4 August 1941; 92 Air Base Squadron on 4 April 1942; 92 Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron on 13 June 1942. Disbanded on 14 April 1944. Reconstituted, and redesignated as 92 Mission Support Squadron, on 7 March 1989. Activated on 1 April 1989. Redesignated as 92 Force Support Squadron on 1 December 2008.
