History: Formed in 1960 by amalgamation of the 9th Queen's Royal Lancers, British Army and the 12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales's), British Army

Official blazon
A pair of crossed lances with pennons flying outwards; on the cross of the lances the Prince of Wales's plume coronet and motto "Ich Dien" (I serve); above the plume and within the upper portion of the crossed lances a crown; on the lower portion of the lances a scroll inscribed "IX-XII". The Princes of Wales's plume, motto and lover half of the lance pennons in silver plate, riminder in gilt.
