Origin/meaning
The saltire is taken as a symbol of the interest of the Archbishop for the Eastern liturgy. The bread-basket and fish refer to the Eucharist.
The base shows an ope book with the letters A and Ω, symbol for the studies of the Archbishop in Rome.
The motto is taken from John 17:3.
