Hopea-sinikatkoisen kilven yläkentässä sininen jännittämätön käsijousi hirsittäin ja alakentässä uiva lohi kokonaan hopeaa.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 7, 1972.

The salmon symbolises the large amounts of salmon that can be caught in the Tornio river. The bow symbolises the hunting and the birch forests.

As the municipality was abolished only 7 months after the arms were granted, these are the shotest-lived Finnish municipal arms.Literature:
