State : Vorarlberg
District : Brgenz

Alberschwende.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on December 22, 1970.

The arms show in the base a tree trunk and an axe. These are canting for the -schwenden part of the name (Schwenden = roden, meaning clearing forest). The trunk (locally known as Müsel) also refers to the former Müselbach region.

The linden tree refers to the progress in the village.

Literature : Burmeister, 1975
